Huntington Beach Now Has A Handel’s Homemade Ice Cream Store

Handel’s Homemade Ice Cream opened a scoop store on March 10, 2022, across the Huntington Beach Pier. The ice cream brand has other Orange County locations. The location in the City of Huntington Beach provides 48 flavors each day from a compilation of over 170 flavors that rotate as per season. Zach Leffers owns the Huntington Beach shop as well as has a partnership in the Manhattan Beach and Newport Beach locations.

From March 09 to 13, 2022, Leffers chose to have an event where the proceeds of the sales to Edison High School students and staffers would go to a local family. Shaya and John Page lost their sons Jeremy and Joshua following a crash between their pickup and a Huntington Beach city vehicle.

Jeremy and Joshua were Edison High School students, so Leffers made a social media announcement about the event. As part of the announcement, Leffers stated that it seemed like a natural thing to do for his store to help the family raise funds. He also said that Shaya Page visited the store the other day and the staff started to tear up. Leffers added that there was an incredible level of support from Huntington Beach natives for the initiative.

The shop is visible along the Pacific Coast Highway and Main Street. It is a spacious location that once housed a flip-flop store. Frank Wright from Ikon Architects renovated the location and decorated it with the signature, blue, white and red color scheme of the ice cream brand.

The brand offers sherbert, ices, yogurt, sundaes, banana splits and other sweet dishes. Leffers operates the shop with Jesus Bautista. In a recent interview, he stated that he feels thrilled about the prominent store and that he plans to keep connecting with natives. Leffers has already planned for the next benefit offering.

He stated that Oka Elementary School reached out to them for a fund-raising event. The Huntington Beach location will support the community. As for Leffers, supporting the community will allow the location to thrive.
