Two Rinks Planned In Huntington Beach Around Sea And Sand

An entertainment zone is planned for the wintertime in Huntington Beach, which will bring a greater holiday atmosphere to the area. Two outdoor rinks are in the pipeline for Huntington Beach Surf City in the holiday season, both near the ocean and the sand. It will become the first time the city’s government will install a rink on the north of the namesake Huntington Beach Pier. The Pasea Hotel and Resort will be the location for the other rink.

Huntington Beach is putting a ring around the sand for the first-ever time in its history. It will undoubtedly be a prime hotspot for holiday photographs, with the sea and the pier in the background. The rink installation will be at the Pier Plaza location for more visitors in the slower months.

The plaza around the Huntington Beach Pier will become a rink in the holiday season, providing pier and oceanic views for skating fans. Huntington Beach plans on opening the rink on or before November 26, 2021, and the attraction will be there through January 02, 2022. Building the icy area will take $500,000 or so over the next three years. Huntington Beach used Ice America as a contractor for the work. Up to 35% of the rink revenue will go into Huntington Beach coffers, and the company will receive the rest. Up to $150,000 is the cost required for the initial year for the project.

Citing the coronavirus epidemic, Director of Community Services Chris Slama stated that the last year has been difficult for events and programming. Slama also stated that the brainstorming began months before to discover ways of bringing more individuals to Huntington Beach when the summertime visitors start to leave the city in October.

As for Slama, there are many opportunities to work with the OC community to make visitors and residents ice skate with a world-renowned attraction in the backdrop. Slama regards it as an exciting idea. Ice America installs outdoor rinks for other US cities, which include one around Long Beach’s Queen Mary hotel and another in Temecula.

The rink in Huntington Beach will be rectangular and around 380 square meters as well as run parallel to California’s Pacific Coast Highway. The rink can hold up to 162 ice skaters at a particular time.

As for Slama, there is much scope to complete the rink with performances or music. Each person will have to pay $12 for unlimited admission to the area and $5 to have a skate rental. It is supposed to stay open from 02:00 to 10:00 pm Monday to Thursday, 10:00 am to 11:00 pm Friday to Saturday and 10:00 am to 10:00 pm on Sunday. In the winter break as schools in California let out, there will be earlier weekend hours. Huntington Beach is yet to announce ice rink ticket rates.

Slama expects that it would hold many locals and visitors as well as knows that people would be excited to come here. Slama feels that it would especially be the case this year as people are preparing to head out.

The Pasea Hotel and Spa rink will come back from November 25, 2021, to January 03, 2022, for the Cool Yule celebration of the hotel in the holiday season. The rink provides sunset and beach views, but skaters regard it as a location that is tucked away to a slightly larger extent.

Hotel locals and guests will have a secluded skating experience at the oceanfront. Food and holiday cocktails will also be available, alongside theme nights, luxury fire pit experiences, group skating sessions, evenings that honor first responders, and more.
