Real Estate Officer Shot Dead In Huntington Beach Identified

Huntington Beach Crime, shooting, death shooter identified

On August 07, 2021, a suspected gunman killed real estate officer Michael Alderson in a house in Huntington Beach. An Anaheim resident, Alderson was 66. Law enforcement officers revealed his identity after they investigated the incident that also injured the gunman and two other people. Alderson and the other victims were taken to a local hospital, but the former died there. An unidentified gunman shot the three people when the latter approached the residence on Operetta Drive on the morning of that Saturday.

Huntington Police Department Captain Tim Martin stated that it is believed that the violence stemmed from a familial dispute that pertained to the future sale of that residence. The other injured people are associated with the gunman, but law enforcement is yet to describe their association in detail. Those two people are real estate industry professionals, as well, and they stayed hospitalized for two days after the incident.

A neighbor noticed a front-yard sign that read ‘For Sale’ and that was taken out from the ground before getting erected back last year. The neighbor also noticed workers in the yard just a few hours before the incident.

When law enforcement was called to that residence, they discovered the three people in the yard. SWAT officials could be spotted holding guns around the entrance of the building.

Soon, the suspect came out of the property and surrendered to law enforcement. Police regarded the gunshot injury of the suspect as a superficial wound. Officials have not stated how he got the wound and are yet to identify the man. At the same time, Jennifer Carey of the police department said that the man is getting better in a local hospital.
