What’s Popping Up In Brews At The Modrian

Starting August 25, “Sunset Sounds: Acoustic Sessions” will be held at Skybar, at Mondrian LA. This includes live music as well as specialty cocktails on the new “Sunset Hour” menu, alongside beers at $7, Aperol Spritz at $12, and of course, champagne. The debut night will be kicked off by Artist Megan Winsor at 7 in the evening. If you’re interested, there’s the option to RSVP or make a table reservation.

Summer Beach Cleanup and After Party to be held at Dreamland, is slated for August 27. Hosting it will be Surfrider Foundation Los Angeles Chapter and Happy Hour Tequila Seltzer, and this will be a component of the Summer Tour by Happy Hour.

From 3 to 6 in the evening, Happy Hour and Surfrider Foundation Los Angeles Chapter will partner towards a beach cleanup event at Topanga Beach, as part of the former’s ongoing efforts to bring about “happy hours” to the local community. The After Party to be held at Dreamland will happen from 6 to 9 in the P.M., and will cover small bites, a live DJ, and a can each of Happy Hour for participants. Also available will be a specialty menu labeled “Cocktails for a Cause”, with signature tequila seltzers. A share of the proceeds will be returned to the Surfrider Foundation.

Wine retailer Luckysomm and Chef Ray Garcia will be partnering to offer a night of live music, small bites, and wine on the DTLA patio of asteroid, from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. on August 25.

The event will be one to celebrate summer, complete with organic and natural wines provided by Delinquente Wine Co of Australia, as well as canned cocktails from Bizzarro Aperitivo, alongside funk soul beats performed by DJ Clifton Weaver. You’ll also get Garcia bites, such as arancini, and of course, Maitake mushrooms on toast. You can get tickets at $45/pp on Resy.

KazuNori has officially replaced SUGARFISH in what used to be the Sushi Nozawa space in Studio City, and has added The Nozie to their menu, which is a six-hand roll set with staples such as toro and eel, lobster, and recent addition such as sea bream, yamaimo, and ankimo.

Beachwood Brewing and Distilling, famed for its world-class IPAs, barbecue, and sour beers, has set up a new shop inside Bixby Knolls in Long Beach. They’ve announced plans of branching into distilling, and setting up a new pizzeria in Huntington Beach later this summer. There will also be an outdoor taproom debuting at Second & PCH in September. The new location of Bixby Knolls will have a round-the-clock tap tasting room, with small specialty beer batches brewed on-site. They will also bring in brews from the Downtown Long Beach brewpub and Huntington Beach production facility, and also sour beers of the Belgian-inspired kind from The Blendery.
